Aspen University's RN to BSN Program Awarded CCNE Accreditation

NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aspen Group, Inc. (OTCBB:ASPU), parent of Aspen University, a nationally accredited online postsecondary education company, is pleased to announce the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has granted accreditation to its Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program (RN to BSN) within the School of Nursing at Aspen University. This new accreditation was effective March 12, 2014, the first day of the program's CCNE on-site evaluation, and extends for five years to December 31, 2019.

The CCNE is an autonomous arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, contributing to the improvement of the public's health. Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, the CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing.

"This is a critical moment in the history of Aspen University. Since we announced our debtless education vision earlier this year, all our enrollment efforts have been directed to prospective graduate students. Starting today, we will commence with offering RNs in America the opportunity to earn their undergraduate BSN degree by simply paying $250 per month. Our goal is to graduate thousands of BSN students in the coming years and have nearly every one of these nurses graduate debt free," stated Chairman and CEO Michael Mathews.

Chief Academic Officer Cheri St. Arnauld commented, "Earning CCNE accreditation allows the School of Nursing at Aspen University to help address the BSN nursing shortage across the country. This program will produce graduates who are well prepared to fulfill their roles in patient care, nurse education and leadership. This recognition from the CCNE demonstrates Aspen's commitment to building programs with rigorous outcomes and accountability for student learning."

Aspen University's RN to BSN Program

Aspen's RN to BSN degree completion program is designed specifically for registered nurses with an associate's degree (ADN) or nursing diploma, with a current RN license from the U.S. or Canada. The mission of the RN to BSN program is to prepare nurses for a broader scope of practice, enhance their professional development, and provide a better understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social issues that affect patients and influence care delivery. Nurses will be prepared to assume roles that demand critical-thinking, decision-making, communication and leadership skills.

Aspen University's RN to BSN Monthly Payment Plan Program

Aspen's monthly payment plan allows RNs to pay the $9,750 tuition for the 10-course RN to BSN completion program by paying $250 per month for 39 months. Any miscellaneous fees incurred by a student throughout the duration of their program may be paid at $250 per month following completion of the 39 monthly tuition payments.
